ReadyEdgeTM

Integrated Line

The ReadyEdgeTM accessory is an intelligent system controlling and reporting device meant to make monitoring your solar energy system more transparent. Enabling access to LiveViewTM 2.0 and Morningstar Solar ConnectTM, ReadyEdge provides data from all compatible Morningstar devices in your system. It is designed to be paired with the three ReadyBlock options, up to six total, with the possibility to use multiple ReadyShunts and ReadyRelays.

The ReadyEdge is compatible with select Morningstar products. The following Morningstar controllers and inverters can connect with the ReadyEdge via MeterBus port or RS-485 with a Meterbus-485 Adapter (MSC-1):

  • SunSaver MPPT
  • ProStar MPPT
  • ProStar
  • SureSine Classic

The additional Morningstar controllers listed below can connect with the ReadyEdge via RS-485 with a Meterbus-485 Adapter (MSC-1):

  • TriStar MPPT 150V
  • TriStar MPPT 600V
  • TriStar PWM

Key Features and Benefits
  • One ReadyEdge communicates with multiple Morningstar serial devices. Any mix of devices allowed
  • Operates with other products or completely stand-alone – no charge controller or inverter pairing is required. ReadyEdge can even act as a “system load controller”
  • Includes ReadyRail expansion system for relay operation (advanced generator and fuel cell starts/stops), current monitoring, battery state of charge calculations, and battery management
  • Enabled for Morningstar Solar Connect and LiveView System Monitoring and Management
  • Mobile app support with Bluetooth
  • Open integrations with Modbus and Simple Network Messaging Protocol (SNMP) to tie into your industrial networks
  • Suitable for 12, 24, and 48V battery systems
  • Fully protected with automatic and manual recovery
  • Continuous self-testing with fault notification
  • LED indications, Reset push-button
  • Monitor temperatures, voltages, theft loops, door switches, smoke/water detectors, hybrid-system fuel levels, etc.
  • Battery, Load, AC, Tank Sense, Battery Voltage sense, remote temperature sensor terminals sized for #24-16 AWG (0.2 – 1.3 mm2) wire (8-72 Vdc)
  • AC Detect 240 Vac max
  • Output 12 Vdc @ 1A, with overload protection including short circuit
  • Command and schedule-based functions of the 12V switched output
  • Command and schedule-based functions of networked loads on MS-CAN
  • Allows custom naming of individual digital inputs. This name is shown in LiveView and referenced in relevant logfiles
  • Automatic notifications when newer version of firmware is available for the unit (and supported ReadyBlocks)
  • Provides 2x independent DC voltage source measurements
  • Provides 6x independent digital inputs to detect dry contact signals
  • 24/7 Clock for schedule features (when on a network, provides clock synchronization via NTP server and has the option to select what time source to use (local clock or NTP))
  • Event Logger records events for all networked devices and attached ReadyBlocks
  • Novel equipment monitor feature can detect if a device in the system has locked up and cycle it’s power – prevents a truck roll just to reset power
